Story:

As a world, we have slowly separated people and products further and further from their original state. The beauty of Aboriginal culture is that it forever will be bound to the connection of nature in its raw form and the profound respect for its incredible beauty when minimally disturbed. This work aims to reflect this concept. It holds intricate lines and dot work, representing deep connection within nature. I have incorporated small flowers into this piece, flowers gave nourishing nectar and healing properties to our people, and bare great cultural significance.

Description:

This piece can be rested against the wall or hung on the wall to give your space an earthy feel!  Handcrafted with recycled cedar giving it a beautiful deep pink/brown colouring.  Please email me if you would prefer to not have wall hanging fixings attached to the back of this piece so that it can be left to rest against the wall along display bench or floor corner.

  • Added character.

  • The painted face is sealed with non-toxic timber wax for protection and safe handling.

Details:

  • Handcrafted and hand painted recycled cedar

  • Acrylic medium

  • Non-toxic wood oil is applied to the block face for longevity and protection.

  • Size: 60cmH x 16-18cmL x 3 cm W

  • Ready to dispatch

ACKNOWLEDGMENT

As proud Indigenous women and emerging Indigenous artist I would like to acknowledge all of our people as the custodians and traditional owners of this great and inspiring land. I acknowledge my own, and all Indigenous People's deep connections and rich culture with the land, skies, stars and waters.

I pay my respects to all of our Elders, past, present and emerging. They are our knowledge keepers, passing on culture and tradition so that we can preserve, share and cherish it.

Yadagee - Thankyou
